Being independent and owner-led, you are never far from the person making the decisions. Our clients have direct access to the owners of the clinic, not several layers of management. We are not tied to corporate or shareholder interests, it is just us trying to get the best for you pet.

The Clinic
Brockwell Veterinary Surgery, a cornerstone of the Herne Hill community for over three decades is conveniently accessed from Herne Hill Station near the dog friendly Brockwell Park. We are very proud of our location and it attracts pet owners from a range of neighbourhoods near and far, including Brixton, Dulwich, Camberwell, Crystal Palace, Peckham, Tulse Hill, West Norwoood and Stockwell.

Our dear Cat Persia arrived home this evening having had dental surgery at Brockwell. Will - The Veternary Surgeon who performed … More the procedure was kind and professional. He gave me detailed feed back after examing Persia before and after the surgery. The receptionists and the team were and are fabulous. Persia was cared for throughout the day. The whole team were courteous and friendly and I can see they have a real concern for their patients and relatives. I want to personally thank the team for such tender loving care of our beloved Persia and for their professionalism. Priscilla, Persia's Sister was treated with more or less the same procedure last year and had a speedy recovery so I'm sure Persia will follow suit. Would highly recommend them.

I have been coming to this practice with my cats since Jenny started it which must be 25+ years by now. I have seen lots … More of changes all good, but one thing has never changed everyone in the practice is kind, empathetic, responsive and incredibly competent. Today they fitted me in with my cat who had gone AWOL at the sight of the cellar door opening, evening before the cat carrier appeared. I missed the appointment but my cat was spotted in my neighbours garden, I grabbed him and they fitted him in . I am so grateful he had a nasty wound and was becoming more unwell. Special thanks to the lovely helpful considerate Veterinary nurse and to Jenny for treating my cat and reassuring me. Geraldine and Yoda ( and Kiko, who did not need you today!)

I brought in our Cat on Monday as he was very unwell.Reception staff were friendly , were empathetic.The female vet who treated … More him in his last moments was patient and clear in explaining what would happen next.Everything happened so quick and UNFORTUNATELY there was nothing that could be done for our lovely cat and he had to be euthanised.It absolutely broke my heart and I broke down but the vet and reception staff were patient and compassionate towards me.Thank you for everything even though nothing could be done but put him at peaceThank you for sending us his paw prints in a card it really helped us on our journey as my children were at school and didn’t have a chance to say their last goodbyes.What a lovely message.I will definitely bring in our future pet when we are ready to get a cat.Thank you from the bottom of our heartsfor treating him with the utmost dignity and respect.Kind regardsAmal

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to Will and the 2 ladies who were manning reception on the evening of Thursday … More 16th Jan 2025. My dear old Cat (who was a rescue cat from this very Vets practise 11 years ago) was quite unwell and as I was given a thorough explanation of available options was able to make an informed decision.Due to medical issues that may be ongoing I said goodbye to dear old Sid that evening.The team were all absolutely lovely, empathetic and totally understanding and supportive when I was blubbing in the reception area.I collected the ashes and again, Kaitlin on reception (hope I spelt it right) was just lovely.I can't recommend this Vets practise highly enough!

Switched to this practice a few months ago, largely because of costs at our old vets (a big chain), but also struggling to … More connect with several of the vets that were brought in there. I cannot recommend Brockwell surgery enough. Much better value for money, but more importantly, a vet that actually seems to be interested in what he does. He'll explain everything as much at you need, he'll often bring in other research he's encountered on the topic and he got the basics of the job done mindfully and speedily. I'm very happy this very was recommended to me.

Had a wonderful experience getting our 11 month female dog Spayed. From the initial call, pre visit, op and collecting her … More everyone was lovely, caring and professional. Will the vet even sorted her itching and nails while he had her. There’s a gulf between a good local INDEPENDENT vet like this and those bought up by large groups who then monetise every visit.
